For me, the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is currently the best fitness tracker on the market. He is the cheapest, can do a lot and is very easy to use. However, it sometimes zits around. So I would like to briefly describe what you can do with connection problems and how to reset it. Now that I have tried some expensive and cheap fitness trackers, I switched from Mi Band 1 to Mi Band 2. Especially in relation to the Bluetooth connection you hear again and again of problems.
Sometimes it will not even be found, then allegedly several tapes within range or it is sometimes connected, but this connection is always lost. Why nobody really knows. The problems are not so easy to reproduce. But with the solutions, there are a few tips that I would like to briefly describe. All tips work with all versions of Mi Band included with HRX Edition, because the functionality has remained the same. At the bottom, I still have a solution especially for the Mi Band 2.
Steps to Reset Mi Band 2 with Android
If your Mi band 2 doesn’t pair when unboxing, try with a different android device. make sure that you’re using the official Mi-Fit app downloaded from the Google Play Store. Avoid using companion Apps unless the official app isn’t available. Take, for example, Windows Phones, which doesn’t have an official app. In these situations, it is better to return the product instead of troubleshooting out of the box problems. in case your device stopped working suddenly, the following steps would possibly helpful.
- Force stop the “‘Bluetooth Share process” by going into Settings>Apps>Under Running Apps
- Remove any data that’s cached in the process
- Go to your BlueTooth settings and select the Mi band and tap “Forget Device.”
- Re-open Mi-Fit App and pair the device from the start.
Unpair the Mi Band 2 from within the Mi-Fit App
Remove the device from your Phone’s Bluetooth settings by selecting “Forget Device.”
Remove any cache files or data stores in the Mi-Fit App from Settings>Apps
Uninstall and set up the App from the Google Play Store.
Do note that before attempting the steps mentioned above, make sure that your device isn’t paired elsewhere with a different Mi account. See the following screenshot:
This could mean that the device is paired elsewhere and you would like to unpair it first from that device first. Also, do follow basic steps like ensuring BlueTooth is turned on. Do attempt to pair the band with another device using a similar Mi account. If you would like to start fresh, follow the steps below to connect and pair the device.
How to Connect and pair MI Band 2 In android
Like we mentioned before, the initial setup of the band 2 is simple, and users ought to be able to have it up and running within minutes. If this is not the case, follow the steps below to complete the initial setup.
- Turn on the BlueTooth On your Phone or tablet
- Install the Xiaomi fit App from the Google Store
- Open the fit App and sign in with your Mi-Account
- Select “Add Device” from the App and select Mi Band from the available choices
- As soon as the Bluetooth device vibrates, tap the button on the Mi band 2
Also, do make sure that the Mi Band 2 is charged after unboxing. In our case, the device solely had 200% battery left. This did not stop us from pairing the device.
